Job Summary: This Engineering position will be held accountable for delivering the following: Responsible for fast and accurate materials engineering support to the manufacturing plants; Responsible for ISO quality documentation for PTO heat treat operations; Leads manufacturing-materials processing related technology prospecting; Provides materials engineering expertise to suppliers to resolve supply interruption or quality issues; Provides guidance and mentoring to increase to competencies of manufacturing in materials related areas; Mentors PTO Resident Materials engineering staff. Education Required: Position requires a Bachelors Degree in Materials Engineering or Metallurgy.

Experience Required: The candidate must possess a minimum of two years of responsible materials/metallurgical experience in a metal working environment. Experience in a metallurgical/materials lab, with a full understanding of laboratory equipment and techniques including specimen preparation, failure analysis, optical and electron microscopy and physical property testing of materials. Knowledge of material properties relating to suitability and performance of a material in a given application. A general knowledge of office computers and software is needed. Ability to perform calibration related to non-complex equipment. Must be able to successfully lead technical teams to resolve quality or technical issues in a manufacturing environment. The ability to balance individual work assignments while advising/overseeing the work of others is required. The candidate will act as a technical mentor and coach.
